I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

it's for educational purposes, but not college or anything like that, my parents don't have enough money to pay for it (i need $250)

i want to ask my grandma to loan me the money but i know my parents dont want me to. my younger brother asked for a loan from her and he never paid her back, so my parents think im going to do the same thing.

should i ask her for the loan or not? i dont like borrowing money from people but i really want to do this. should i go against my parents and ask her for the money or no?

im in the process of getting a job, i've applied at over 30 different places and have been looking for about a month and a half, i can't wait until i get a job because i already registered for it. i was sure i was going to have a job by now.

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

Don't know why, but the phrase 'educational purposes' sets off an alarm.

It's not college or anything like that.....sooooooooooo. Exactly what is it?

I'm wondering if your parents don't want you to ask for the money because of what the money will be used for. Maybe they feel if you want that $250 bad enough, then work for it.....not borrow it.

anybody else hear those alarm bells ringing???

EDITED to ADD:

Ah I see. Since when did a trip to Cicago become %26quot;educational%26quot;? You want to go and your parents don't want you to. No wonder I heard alarm bells!

Another question of yours:

%26quot;%26quot;

I want to go to chicago but my parents dont want me to. I'll have to borrow money from my grandma, but my parents dont want me to.

if i dont get to chicago, it'll prove that my parents have control over me no matter what age i am, im 19 btw. if i dont go to chicago i'm going to stay here unhappy still under my parents control.

%26quot;%26quot;%26quot;%26quot;

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

If your brother did that to her then you should write up a contract and sign it.

Make sure it says when you borrowed the money, when you will pay it off, and what it will be used for.

Make it as official as possible so that there is no way that you could deny it later.

Go for it, the worst she can say is no!

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

No you should not go against your parents wishes and ask your grandmother. You have to learn to go without what you and your parents cannot afford. Reapply when you have the money or see if you can defer.

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

If you honestly plan on paying her back do both of you a favor and sign a written contract. I'm not doubting you or anything, but then your parents might not be against you borrowing the money.

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

Don't ask, because $250 isn't worth the grief this will cause. Sell something, go without, get a payday advance, don't do this.

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

You should reassure your family that you won't stiff your grandmother by giving your word sincerely. Work out a payment plan so that you are giving your grandmother something every paycheck. This will show her that you are trustworthy and you never know if you'll need to borrow from her again.

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

Try to remind your parents that you are not your brother and that they should not compare the two of you. If you have always been a responsible person, they should accept that you will repay the loan. Write out a plan for repayment and show it to your parents so that they can see that you have thought it out completely. Then ask you grandparents for the loan. I am a grandparent and if one of my grandchildren asked for help, I would give it gladly as long as I could afford it. Good Luck

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

no disrespect but if your struggling to get a job now how are you going to pay her back?

if the money is for educational purposes and your not working maybe you could apply for some kind of grant from the state

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

Don't go against your parents wishes!!!!! Maybe you could make some deal with your parents...........you will do extra work around the house or get a job, babysitting, etc. When you make money see if your parents will match what you will make. They may go for that; seeing you are trying to earn money on your own.

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

Talk to your parents again. You're not your brother and you shouldn't lose this opportunity. If your grandma has the means, I'm sure she'll lend you the money. Grandmas are incredible

I need money to do this thing, would it be rude to ask my grandma for it?

I say go ask her for it,,you have already registered for this..All she can said is no...Tell her not to say anything to your parents about this...Good Luck

Go with your heart and if you do have a job and promise to pay ou back.

Another question about law school?

I heard some depressing news today. I was told that you have to have good credit to sit for the bar. Is this true. Now my credit isn't bad but it isn't the greatest either. If this is true then I don't know about even applying to law school. I probably won't get any loans due to my credit so how can I pay for school? I have considered finishing my nursing degree instead of changing my major to political science like I was going to. Work a couple of years as a nurse and then apply to law school. That way I might be able to save some money. Has anyone done this and what are my chances of being able to sit for the bar? If I go all the way through law school and then can't take the bar exam then I don't need to try to be a lawyer right?? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another question about law school?

You don't have to have good credit to sit for the bar. They do a background check, but it's more so that the bar feels comfortable you won't go out and start taking advantage of clients. Many jobs check your credit too. Having bad credit won't necessarily disqualify you. It may raise questions though.

Getting enough financial aid may be a problem though. That's something you should discuss with the financial aid offfice of the school you're interested in. I'm not sure the gov't school loans care what your credit is, and they may be enough to cover law school.

In any case, unless you plan on going into politics, I wouldn't give up that nursing degree for poly sci. Law schools don't care what degree you have. Poly sci can be considered a negative because law schools get a ton of applicants with that degree and it's known to be an easy one. Nursing will help you stand out more. It may also make it easier for you to get an internship or job, because you can apply to those that require a science or medical background.

Another question about law school?

For the Character %26amp; Fitness evaluation, you will be asked to provide some information about your financial history, along with every other thing under the sun they can ask you about. This evaluation is required before you can receive a license.

Law school can easily cost more than $100,000, so working two years to save up some money won't be enough without loans. I'm not well versed in financial aid, so I'd suggest calling a law school financial aid office and asking them your questions.

Is buying a house is good idea for me?

Is buying a house is good idea for me?

I would like ask your suggestion about whether buying a house is good for me or not. 1. I earn approx 64K/annum, gives me 3600. So far the job is steady, may expect it same next two years atleast. Not have obtained my Green card, but have applied and pending legally.

2. I used to have a BMW, unluckily had lot of problems with it and had to buy a new coralla after spending a lot of money before selling it. So my new car loan + depreciated BMW vaule + left unpaid loan all constituted to 19,600 toatlly.

new car = 17K Old bmw bought for 14.5K, Spent for fixing the beemer 5k :-(( Sold the old bmw after fixing for 7K Carried over from old beemer loan = 3K. car loan ==%26gt; 17 + 3 = 20K (approx) 3. Other than that, I recently got married and has a new born. Marriage expenses etc got me 17 k in CC.

Monthly expenses are 2200 including 1000$ for rent.

Should I buy a house? Can I pull it off? Please advice me.

Thanks a lot.

Is buying a house is good idea for me?

you should consider a home that has a monthly payment equal or near you monthly rent. Also you might have to pospone the home buying process until you can cover the closing cost which can range aproximately 20K. I think a home is better.

Is buying a house is good idea for me?

Do you plan on living in the same area for over 5 years? If so, talk to a local real estate broker to see what value of home you qualify to buy.

Is buying a house is good idea for me?

l would suggest you reduce your debt before entering into mortgage to buy a house.l would like say why spend so much on car loans when you could have saved up money to buy one cash.Car lose you money.I would suggest you read financial books like the richest man in Babylon by George s claison or richdad poor dad by Robert kiyosaki

Is Master's in Education necessary?

I have a bachelor's in business and a master's degree in MIS from a top 50 university. I also have 10 years of experience teaching languages - mostly on a part-time basis. I've been planning to open my own language school for a while, but sometimes I feel I should get a master's degree in Education before establishing this business. I'm planning on applying to an ivy league school, but I'm torn between doing this, which will inevitably add college loans to my finances, or getting a small business loan and start my business. Obviously, the EdM has many advantages, but is it necessary or worth it? I need opinions. Thanks!

Is Master's in Education necessary?

In my opinion with your past history another master's degree is overkill. I would suggest a few education courses to cover such things as the various learning styles and the seven types of intelligences. I am speaking from 34 years of experience in public education and a masters degree with a 2nd masters to be completed in the next few months. The 2nd is really only for my own personal satisfaction.

Is Master's in Education necessary?

It really depends on which state you are in. I know of no states that require an Master's in Education to be hired. Some may require one by a certain number of years. These would definately be int the minority. It is possible that you may be able to start teaching at a higher paygrade based off of your industry experience.

Whether it is required to teach in general - absolutely not. Recent studies have shown almost no difference between the teachers who have them and the teachers that don't based off of student test scores on standardized tests.

Is Master's in Education necessary?

It would be more beneficial for you and your business if you taught for a year in a classroom rather than getting your Masters in Education.

Is Master's in Education necessary?

At most, many teaching positions will require you to be certified in the area in which you plan to teach. I have a Master's in Education (MEd), but I am not certified in anything. I also have a Bachelor's in Business. In the long-run, I believe that certification and experience will trump the actual degree. Having both will propel your teaching career. Since you are planning to open your own school, I believe that you should begin this process while looking at certification options before beginning an additional Masters. Also, currently, I am working on my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. Maybe the PhD could be an option for you if you are at all interested in a university career. I too would like to open my own learning center. Good Luck in your endeavors!

Is Master's in Education necessary?

word of mouth and success with actual students will get you more business than a degree on your wall. You already have the experience. put it to use!~

Is Master's in Education necessary?

i have one and yeah, it's important. however, not so important is where you get it. you don't need to drop all that money on an %26quot;ivy league%26quot; school when you can get a very solid education at a state school. remember, it's the INFO that's valuable...not what the diploma says.

Cash problems?

I ran into some financial difficulties before I knew it I applied for way to many pay day loans. Now I made payment arrangements with them but my checking account is in negative and car payment needs to be paid. I am basically a single mother trying to do what I can. Does anyone know how to help me I do work right now and I need to bring my checking account back to positive.

Cash problems?

Best advice is to tighten your belt immediately. If you're getting behind on your payments CALL your creditors right away and explain. Most are much more understanding if you communicate with them.

Cash problems?

Ask everyone you know can they donate something to you to sell on ebay....that way you are not borrowing, you are not begging, and you actually are creating a business for yourself that will save you taxes as a home biz.

Cash problems?

I have found several legitimate work at home sites so far, and I made $500+ in October, over $700 in November, $900+ in December, $700+ in January, and over $850 last month. They are free to join.

Please click my screen name or avatar for more information and a link for proof of payment.

And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

I have 8 payday loans out due to an emergeny that occured last month. noone would give me the entire balance that i needed so i applied for several small ones...now i'm here trying to pay off each loan-but so far they are just taking out the finance charges..@ $90 to 100 each!! I am literally paying over $800 per paycheck just on interest alone and i get paid 2x a month. that's $1600 a month just in finanace charges. I don't know what to do or where to turn for help.I'm a single mom of 3 kids and way over my head :( Any suggestions???

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

You should have not taken such credit regardless of the situation. But now that you screwed up you need to really pray.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

Consolidate your loans IMMEDIATELY!!! That should reduce the payments by amount and you would only have to make one. That is your best option. Oh, don't take out pay day loan anymore!! They are a death trap. I use to work for one of them and I was so upset at how people easily fell into their traps. Borrow from family or friends instead next time.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

I can't really give you any financial advice, other than just stay in touch with your creditors and keep them informed of your situation, preferably in writing. If you can pay something to each creditor each month, even if it's ten dollars or whatever, it just proves you're not out to evade them.

The worse thing to do is to hide your head in the sand. Good luck, you will be okay.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

Go to your local consumer credit office, they know the state laws and can help you out.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

I'm so sorry you have to suffer through this. No doubt it's a terrible situation to be in. Chin up, though you can get through this!!

First, I'm not going to chastise you for doing what you felt you had to do. I think you've already figured out that you won't be doing any more of these in your life, eh?

Second, and this is perhaps the most important thing: Unless the pressure of the collectors is too much for you emotionally, avoid seeking the assistance of a Credit Counseling service. Using these guys makes you pay them money for something you really can manage on your own. That money instead should be used to get yourself out of your hole! Also, using these services will put negative marks on your credit that hang with you for 7 years. Sure they might be able to help you NOW, but it will hurt you in the long run.

Third: Actually this is the most important thing: no matter what DO NOT put priority on your debts over paying your rent/mortgage and putting food on the table. Bad credit sucks, but having no home is MUCH worse. The collectors will scare you six ways from Sunday to make you give them money right away. If that money needs to keep a roof over your head then they'll just have to wait.

Now I know there's nothing in here on HOW to get out. That's because to answer that requires more specific and more personal information about your current financial situation.

Please email me and I'll give you the HOW. I've gotten through this myself. Took some scarring along the way, but I'm way out of it now and enjoying real financial freedom thanks to what I can share with you.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

This may not be the best idea, but it will help you out right now.

Get a loan from www.CashCall.com to pay off the payday loans. You can pay the Cash Call loan back slowly. The interest is high, but it won't eat up your paychecks.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

Take out more payday loans to cover the ones you owe on. And then take out more to cover those. Eventually, the house of cards will collapse, but it is no worse than the scam the gov't is pulling on all of us called Social Security.

What can i do about my paydayloan hell?

go 1 by 1 with your debts, as long as you can

If you pay 1600$ a month in finance charges, you may be able to borrow enough money to get rid of these payday loans.

Good luck !

Financial aide!!! confusion?

I am the main bread winner of my household but make just enough to pay the bills, and evertime I apply for aide it always gives me the student loans. Is there anyting I can do and qualify for without putting me and my family more in debt. I have a good GPA of 3.0 but I find it hard to beleive that there are no scholarships or grants that I can qualify for. Where can I look?

Financial aide!!! confusion?

try http://www.studends.gov, http://www.grants.gov/ or google search government grants you'll get a lot of site, just be prepared to do a lot of work to get them though( essay writing etc.)

Financial aide!!! confusion?

I feel your pain!! I am the same way!! but the only thing you can do is apply for scholarships!! Which can get weary after a while!! Cause you do more work for those than in the school that you want them to pay for!! Good Luck.. Hang in there!! Just apply, apply, apply!!

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

My daughter has been doing well in school. She had all a's and b's until last year. In her tenth grade year she got a C in math. She has taken high honor classes since junior high, and is now in two advance placement classes. She is in eleventh grade. All her life I have encouraged her if she did well she would be able to get scholarships, maybe even a full scholarship. I think the C took care of that she will no longer qualify for the national honor society. (I think) I am not considered low income by the goverment standards. I am disabled and my husband is a plumber. I have three other children. I just have not saved enough, although I have tried. My daughter is really wanting a law degree. She wanted to go to Michigan State. We live in New York. Any Idea how to achieve this goal? I know there are loans and grants available. How do I find these and How do I go about applying and know which ones to apply for. My daughter is about to give up her goal. She knows we dont have the money.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Before you begin applying for financial aid, start off by listing your scholarship advantages.

Are you a minority?

Does your daughter do community service? (If not, have her begin immediately. Scholarships love community service, and there are few you'll come across that don't have some sort of community service effort as a requirement.)

Have you or your husband ever been in the military?

Does your daughter enjoy art, writing, any particular sports, etc.?

Is your household low-income? (Many scholarships will ask you this question; be sure to mention that you have three children when you answer it, as they will be more sympathetic to people who have more children on their way to college soon.)

These are just some of the most common criteria and categories for the many, many scholarships out there for your daughter to claim. Hard work now will pay off later. Apply for ALL the scholarships you qualify for, no matter how small the reward is. The 500 dollar scholarship you might blow off as not being worth your time will easily pay for two semester's worth of textbooks. The more money you win, the less you will have to borrow or work for-- which leads me to my second suggestion.

Loans suck. As some who's 50k in debt with two more years of school to go, I can attest to this. But they're a necessary part of college life, especially if you can't get enough scholarships and government aid to make ends meet. Citibank, Sallie Mae and Bank of America are just some of the many student loan organizations present in the US today. Most of them have similar terms, but shop around and see what works best for you. Always defer your loan until after you graduate; it will give you time to pay it off in pieces during school without having the stress of a bill coming to you every month. Remember, almost EVERYONE takes out a loan to get them through college, especially for lengthy degrees like law and medical. If I'm not mistaken, lawyers are able to work pro-bono for the government after their graduation for a certain period to get their student loans paid off by the government. I know it sounds like a lot of money to pay back, but it will probably be a drop in the bucket compared to some of the other loans she'll take out in her lifetime.

Work study is nice, but may not be worth it depending on the school. At the one I attend, work study wages are six dollars an hour at 20 hours a week; most kids make more working the same hours waiting tables at local restauraunts. It's also up to the school as to whether or not your daughter will qualify for it, so keep that in mind.

There's so much more I could say, but much of it has been covered in the posts above. One thing I will say is don't force your daughter to go to school in-state just because it's cheaper. If she has a dream school, she should apply for it no matter what the costs; she's paying too much for a college education to settle for anything less than whatever school she thinks will best secure her a future career. It's also never too early to apply for scholarships; as a junior, I'd suggest she apply to at least three a month for the next two years. There's no way she CAN'T make money that way.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Get her a library card...Knowledge is free at your local library.

I don't mean look it up at the library. I mean she should teach herself. There is too much pressure on kids these days to go to college and be successful. I think we need to encourage more personal studying. When you go to college you are just trying to get through, trying to pass, trying to get your degree so you be jobless and in massive debt after school. You don't learn everything you need to know. We need to learn to do for ourselves.

High school counselors are useless...

Thanks for the thumbs down whoever did that.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

have her go to college instate. It's a lot cheaper. She will have to take out a loan.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

She can apply for scholarships and grants.

Her school counselor should have the information on how to get the forms, if they don't already have them.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

im going to go to msu too :o)

but anyways, being in 11th grade as well, i've gotten notices about workshops about finaincal aid, so tell your daughter to look out for that, and tell her to visit the conselours and ask about that kind of stuff.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

financial aid can be complicated....there are many aid offices in colleges nationwide. as for scholarships, try fastweb.com which lists the scholarships you may be eligible for..there are also books you can pick up at you local bookstore listing scholarships by degree choice. financial ad is often applied for online at fafsa...a word you will bebome all too familiar with. if you own your home you could take out a ewuity line of credit, which will provide a low interest rate. good luck

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

You just apply once for federal aid and they will tell you what you quailfy for. I have 3 siblings - my parents didn't pay a penny towards our college ed.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Make an appointment with the Financial Aid advisor at the school your daughter wants to attend. They will explain everything to you. I live in NY also %26amp; I had to take out student loans all four years when I went to college.

I see everyone is telling you about FAFSA - the Financial Aid office will explain that as well.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

there are still scholar ships available she needs to talk to her guidance counselor now about grants scholar ships etc don't wait until the last minute to apply !! her GPA wont be lowered that much by the C seek advice from guidance counselor

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Try applying for FAFSA. They will ask for your tax information. She might get scholarships, or grants but if nothing else, she would be eligible for loans that she can pay back after she graduates. I hope she has more luck than I did. My parents absolutely refuse to give me their tax information therefore, seeing how I am under the age of 24 and not in the millitary, I am not eligible for anything. I think my parents are in the same boat you are anyway.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

There are literally hundreds of grants and loans that she could apply for. In Ky we have KEES, which gives you money for college based on your high school grades. If there's anything in your state like that, it would definitely be worth looking in to. Let's not forget of course a very obvious option...the military. Depending on the branch and the state they will pay for 100% of tuition, and the only expenses you're left with are books and housing.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

She can apply for grants, scholarships, and for financial aid at the university. If none of those work, loans are another option.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

At every college there are advisors. Your daughter needs to apply for colleges that she wishes to go to, and then she needs to find out where she gets accepted. This procedure will not have anything to do with money (maybe politics if she wants to apply for ivy league-type places, but most schools will look at GPA and perhaps a personal statement).

Once she has decided on a few potential schools, she needs to meet with an advisor. These people are paid to be experts in not only planning a student's education, but also helping with the financial aspects of it. Many, many, MANY college students take out loans/grants and make it through just fine. I did it and so did most of my classmates in both undergraduate and graduate school.

As they say, educational loans are the best loans to have...it's true.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Go to Citibank's website they have some great financial aid. I am using it now to go to Grad school. Also talk to the financial aid office of the college she wants or her guidance office and discuss other options.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

YOU CAN APPLY FOR CERTAIN SCHOLARSHIPS, AND GRANTS ONLINE, CALL THE SCHOOL FOR THE WEBSITE.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Have her stay at home( saves room and board

Have her go to a local state school( tuition is still cheap)

Have her do work study and or work a part time job in addition to going to school.

Have her work every summer and save up her money for tuition or additional expenses during the upcoming school year

Have her research and apply to as many scholarships as she can

Have her take a free career assessment test so she is sure of what she wants to major in( switching majors can be expensive)

If your family does not have the money to send her to Michigan make sure she works very hard on her own. do research on the internet.. there are a lot of stories of kids who got tons of student loans because they wanted to go to a certain school, and then the graduate with like 60K in debt just from undergrad and can only find a job makeing $8/hour. Make sure that she gets her degree and training as cheaply and unburdensome as possible.

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

Yes there are grants and go to her school and ask for advice on how to go about getting them grants, let them know you don't know how............I myself don't have much education nor money and my daughter put herself there by grants .........so i am proud of her . She is a dental assit and now she is in school again going for radiologist tech so it involves more pay.........shes on a roll lol.........plus she still is working and recently bought herself a new car.............your daughter can do the same so tell her not to give up neither you.............Good luck..........Terry

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

One C is not an automatic out of the game. Her overall GPA will determine if she can qualify for scholarships. First off when she gets ready for college her senior year in February of her senior year you fill out the FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student aid. Here is the link

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

You include your income etc and than about June they will send you an award letter stating what you are eligible to receive from the government. You send the form back with what you are going to take. This form has to be redone every year she is in college.

Also have her talk to her guidance counselor at school they will be able to give her information about scholarship programs. My guidance counselor had tons of information available. You could do a web search for scholarships.

Once she gets into college set up a meeting with that schools financial aid department. They will be able to give you resources on reliable student loan companies.

Most of this stuff is for undergraduate programs. If she wants to be a lawyer FAFSA is not available for grad students. If she gets really good grade she would be eligible to be part of a graduate assistant program. In short she gets her tuition paid (she'll have to pay for books and class fees) and a stipend. In return she becomes an assistant in which she will either A) teach basic level law courses or B) help out and do work for a professor. This is about 20 hours a week of her time. Student loans are also available at this point to.

There are plenty of financial aid out there you just have to find it. Also if she does get loans as long as she is in school she won't have to pay the loans until six months after she is finished with school.

Best of luck

How do I send my daughter to college if I dont have the money?

She could still qualify for NHS more importantly you want he to take the PSAT/NMSQT as it is the best scholarship in the US for undergrads. The National Merit Scholarship is based on the PSAT scores and, if you do well, just being a finalist gets you some money for financial aid. If you win they pay for all four years at any school including books and living expenses on campus usually. Also, I am appauled that, as parents, you are not willing to bend over backwards and exhaust every possible means of financing her dream. Don't kill her dreams out of your own fears. Loans are great things. Also, call the schools she wants to attend and ask about financial aid, every one will send information about it. Start building a file. Do not let her limit herself to ONE school either. Grades being good does not guarentee a spot in any school anymore. MSU may not accept her you never know so encourage her to apply. Also, community colleges are not bad choices and one thing they can do is help you with the issues you have. Most community colleges have a career center and are very up to date on transfer information to schools. they have connections you do not have and you should USE THAT! She can take courses their at the age of 16 for college credit (that seems to be the standard anyways). Every little bit helps with admissions. Also, look at where you work, where your husband works, was anyone in the family a veteran, etc. Have her get a part time job at walmart, mcdonalds, etc. they all offer employees scholarships.

don't let her give up.....

great place to start is the financial aid office of the schools she wants to go to, the community college can help, and fill out the FAFSA as soon as you can after your taxes are complete the spring of the year she will attend college.

How many kinds of federal student loans are there?

How many kinds of federal student loans are there besides Perkins, Stafford and PLUS Loans? When do you apply for the loans?

How many kinds of federal student loans are there?

That's it for the federal loans.

To apply, you should start the federal loan process now by filling out your FAFSA. This is a government process that reviews your financial information and decides how much federal money you're eligible for. While you're doing that, start looking around and applying for scholarships, and saving as much money as you can.

After you know how much money you're eligible for via FAFSA, contact your school's financial aid office and see what private student loans they recommend.

Here's some resources for you:

Try to avoid loans if possible. You end up paying much more than you were given. Use grants and scholarships instead since those do not need to be paid back.

That covers all the loans besides private ones.. Stafford loans have 2 different categories..subs. and unsub. You apply for the loans by going here www.fafsa.ed.gov.. you would apply for them when you are going to college the next year..

How can I find non-governmental funding for African American women over 40 seeking their first degre

I'm interested in a associate of applied science degree in health information technology. I've already accumulated more than $7,000 in student loans because I'm single and didn't qualify for any grants. I do not wish to make another loan to the government seeing that I only earn $8 per hr on my current job as well as being displaced by Katrina. I'm seeking any organization or person to sponser my continued education.

How can I find non-governmental funding for African American women over 40 seeking their first degree?

There are tons of scholarships that go unclaimed each year. Many $400, $500 or $1000 scholarships never even get applied for because people think it's chump change and not worth applying for. Well, get a few of those $500 scholarships and it'll really make a dent in your tuition bill.

Do a search on scholarships, search your major, your ethnic heritage, your town, your parents employers, your employer, hobbies, high school, local chamber of commerce/rotary/ lion's club etc. Left-handed? There is a scholarship out there for you! Older woman returning to school? There are scholarships out there for you. Do combined searches on more than one criteria %26quot;hispanic women aviation scholarships%26quot; etc.

Go to the library and ask the reference librarian for a reference book on scholarships. They usually have more than one. There should be a lot of scholarships out there, some general and some specific to the age/race/degree/location information you provided. As with anything financial, applying will take some effort, but it is always worthwhile.

There were numerous organizations offering financial assistance to student victims of Katrina, many of which may still be active if you're willing to take the time to inquire. In fact... Have you appealed to your financial aid office for a recalculation of your financial aid eligibility? After Katrina, many schools were able to adjust the FAFSA data to reflect the financial losses that their students experienced as a result of flood damange or their subsequent displacement. If you haven't asked about this, it could be worthwhile to do so. You may become eligible for grant aid this way.

Do you have to purchase stocks on margin to be considered a Pattern Day Trader by the NYSE?

I'm a small investor, a very small investor. I have devised a range trading strategy which only requires two trades per day. My initial investment will be $500, through a cut rate online brokerage. I understand that the NYSE and the NASD, require a minimum of $25000 in the accounts of %26quot;pattern day traders%26quot;. However the reason as I understand it, is to protect banks from losses on margin loans. I don't intend to buy on margin. So does this regulation apply to me? Thanks.

Do you have to purchase stocks on margin to be considered a Pattern Day Trader by the NYSE?

A day trader is some who buys or sells the same stock, the same day %26amp; does that 3x in the same trading week. For example, you buy stock (x) on monday, sell stock (x) on monday, buy stock (x) on tues, sell stock (x) on tues, then buy and sell stock (x) on wed, boom your flagged as a day trader %26amp; are requared to have 25k in your accout. so b4 you do the 3rd bu or sell, wait 5 market day's and you will be ok if you have a margin account (most margin accouts require a $2,500 balance), if you have a cash account, then after u sell a stock u are suposto wait 3 marktet day's b4 you buy a diff sotck, but there is a loop hole, you can buy a stock sonner, but then you cannot sell it b4 the 3 day's are done or your flagged for using a margin account but only having a cash accout/ the best way to do trading w/o having 25k, is to get a margin accout w only 2,500, doing 2 day tades a week %26amp; your safe..

Do you have to purchase stocks on margin to be considered a Pattern Day Trader by the NYSE?

If you make more then 3 day trades in a 5 day period you'll get flagged as PDT. You must have a margin account regardless of whether or not you use it, and you must have the 25k to have a margin account.

What I'd suggest is to use two different brokers so you can alternate days although you may not have funds to start two accounts ... that is your best alternative IMO.

I want to go to medical school and become a doctor...?

But is there anything I can do to avoid getting $100,000+ of student loans and debt? Also, what are some good scholarships I can apply for? Any other tips would be great, thanks.

I want to go to medical school and become a doctor...?

Start contacting medical schools and go to their open house events. Some cost $10 or $15 dollars for the day and include lunch. While you are there you can ask these questions to the students and staff. The fin aid staff can tell you about programs like fellowships they offer or school specific aid they offer. You will find out all the info about curriculum plus get to talk to other students who are in the same boat as you. Good Luck!

How long does it take for a contested delinquency to come off?

I had a delinquency put on my credit report for an unpaid bill 3 yeas ago that i never knew about. They never mailed me a bill, just turned it over to a collection agent who supposedly sent me a letter to an old address, but I never got it. The original company had my cell phone#, but no one ever called.

Anyway, I found out when I applied for a loan and was denied. Contested it with the cred report company, and got a letter about 2 months later saying it had been removed. I have limited credit monitoring through a credit card (WaMu/Providian) that is still showing a delinquency?

They had originally reported to just one company, can the others pick it up from the original report? I am going to wait another month and order another 3 in 1, I am just wondering if I should order one now to check it out, I don't want to waste $40 if it is just a matter of time.

How long does it take for a contested delinquency to come off?

I think they are legally required to remove it within 30 days of finding out that it was inaccurate.

But I know (from experience) that the credit monitoring is more delayed than you would normally expect - I had the same thing happen with my husband's report when items were deleted.

Your idea to wait 1 month is good (it should definitly be removed by then). But, have you pulled your credit reports off of annualcreditreport.com yet? You are entitled to 3 free reports per year (1 per bureau) - you won't get your credit score, but you'll be able to see if the items are removed or not if you haven't done so. This site is set up because of the government - as long as you order directly from this site there is NO CHARGE for the report (they do offer to let you buy the score's for $7.95 each)

How long does it take for a contested delinquency to come off?

When you dispute a debt on your credit you need to contact all 3 major credit bureaus and file individual disputes with each bureau. After the credit bureau receives the dispute they get with the company that placed the debt on your report . This company has 30 days to prove the debt is valid if they do not the credit bureau removes it.

The contact information is:

1) Equifax 800-685-1111

2)Experian 888-397-3742

3) Trans Union 800-916-8800

I know it is a hassle but you need to contact these 3 bureaus to start the dispute process. Good Luck!!

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

I asked a similiar question a few weeks ago and everyone said we can not get around gettting a credit card. (We were trying to go about this without getting one)

So we tried a few things. First thing we tried was getting a small personal loan through our bank. It was denied.

Than we finally broke down and applied for a credit card. They also denied us that.

Our credit is a little tinged. His by a 200 dollar medical bill and mine by an outstanding cable bill.

how are we supposed to build better credit if we can't get approved for credit to begin with?

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

Here is the best way and sometimes the only way, open up a bank account, if you already have one all the better, put in as much money as you can spare, $500.00 or $1000.00. Then go to the bank and tell them you want a small loan, but you want to borrow $500.00 against your savings account, they will give it to you in a minute, because for them it is a win win situation, no way for them to lose they have your money. Then in few months pay it back! Then go to your small loan company while your 500 or what ever amount is still in your bank, ask to borrow 200 dollars, they will ask for a reference, give them hour bank that you had a loan for the $500.00 with, they will give you the $200 make sure you pay it all back then you can apply for anything because you have 2 references, only way to start your young and have a long life ahead, now is the time to build your credit, always, always pay on time or early, if you don't you are back to square one! Good Luck!

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

That's the thing about creditors, they expect you to pay your bills! So pay your medial bills and the cable bill and get a secure credit card.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

First you need to pay off those 2 bills........then make sure you dont accumulate any other blemishes on your credit. Everytime someone checks your credit it lowers your credit score. There are secured credit cards that you would be eligible for.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

Somebody apparently did give you credit to begin with, or you wouldn't be owing the medical and cable bills. Pay them first. Then get a cosigner with whom you share mutual trust. Never betay that trust, no matter what. Start out small, then build.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

The easiest way to begin building credit when your credit is poor to begin with is Rent to own .. begin renting to own something and pay it off .. it takes a bit of time but it does work

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

Your question seems to indicate that you don't understand why you are a credit risk, and why you are getting denied for credit.

So let me try a different example. Suppose you want to go to Harvard or Yale (the universities) because you know that people with degrees from those institutions get good, high-paying jobs.

But for some reason, Harvard and Yale will not accept you for admission, based upon your school records - what CAN you do?

You either need to explain why you got bad grades or retake the classes to raise your GPA. Same thing here.

You either need to explain, on your credit report WHY there is a mistake, and/or how you tried to fix it, OR you need to fix it by settling with the company.

As far as the cable bill thing goes, you need to contact the police to file a police report - which you can then mention in your letter to the credit bureau, along with paying off the credit bill and apologizing for the delay.

People and companies don't lend out money (i.e. credit) to people that show a history of not paying their bills. IT really doesn't matter how good your reason sounds to YOU - just pretend that a complete stranger wanted to borrow money from you - and the only information you have to go on is that htey ALREADY owe people or companies money, and aren't paying it back.

A secured credit card is best, or there are always the ultra-high interest rate cards for people with bad credit.

But honestly, you have no business getting a credit card until you understand that credit is not %26quot;free money%26quot;, it is an iron weight around your neck that inexoribly drags you down. And if you don't have $300, you shouldn't be buying anything that requires credit.

I'm not saying that to be unkind - it just happens to be one of the lessons I learned the hard way. More than likely, you need to earn more money. That means a second job, or a better job. Or a part-time business.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

Basically the type of credit that helps you the most, as far as scores is revolving credit (credit cards) Revolving credit boost scores far more than personal loans.

Ok, with that tidbit out of the way.....

The way it sounds is like you don't have much time, if you needed that loan by the end of this month or in the next month. Unfortunately getting credit and having it report takes time.

Is there anyway that you can get a relative to co-sign the personal loan for you?

If not, is there anyway that you can have your folks, siblings or your husbands folks, siblings add you or him to their credit cards as authorized users? Doing that is one of the fastest ways to raise your scores. As long as the card(s) you are added to have an excellent history - no lates, no overlimits. And also a low utilization - around 25%-40% (preferably less) The cards should also have a long history.

If you can be added, be sure and request, when being added, that they report on your credit reports. When the credit company updates they will probably add them to your reports.

But, even though that is one of the fastest ways to add history and good credit to your reports, I still don't see it happening in the time frame you mentioned. Building credit takes time.

Yes people do get credit with worse things on their reports than what you and your husband have, but many of those people have more on their reports to build from. Also, many of those people do start out with secured cards or store cards and work their way up over time.

You might go to the site I've listed and click on Forums. Then look in the upper right corner for Credit Pulls. Click on that and then enter your score plus about 5 or 10 points. Look to see who gives credit to people who have similar scores to yours. Many times you can read comments from the people who entered their info about what they had on their reports at the time of applying.

While you are on that site, you might go to the Credit Forum and look in the sub forum for the Prosper Marketplace. Do some reading on what people experience going through Prosper for a loan. You might also go to www.prosper.com and do some reading there.

Also, while you are in the Credit Forum, look in the sub forums for the Medical Forum and do some reading on how to make that hospital deal with your husband on paying them.

I wish I could be of more help to you.

+++++edit

I agree with the person that posted right before me, as far as filing ID theft. You should file a police report for ID theft on the cable bill. After you file it, you should send a dispute to the credit bureaus and include the police report with the dispute.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

I'll try not to make this long and boring. My credit is way worse than that and I've got credit cards, and loans from my credit union. 1st- Secure Loan- my mom gave me a couple thousand, I went to the credit union and deposited it, told them I wanted a secure loan on it. They froze THOSE funds and gave me a loan for the same amount. You pay your loan payment on that (stretch it to at least a year), If you pay $200 a month, once you've paid you bill that $200 is available the next day to spend. You loose absolutely nothing, and it loOKs like someone actually gave you a loan. When I left the credit union that day, I gave my mom back her money. You can take your payroll check and do it, cause they give it right back to you.

2nd- www.myimaginecard.com, and www.rewards660.com

Both of these places will give you a credit card. They both have small things in their cardholder agreement but if you read it well you'll be ok. I pay my money order, western union, or money gram before my due date. Had Imagine since Jan. and I'm up to $900 limit. Just got Rewards 660.

I tried Orchard Bank last year, but was denied.

Sorry, I did make it a long answer. You've got enough of those on here.

Go to your local Macy's Department store, if you have no credit, you have good chances of getting a card, your credit line might only be $100, but its a great starter, it will help you alot in the future. also, don't go applying for credit left and right, this will hurt your chances of getting a card, banks dont like seeing that you apply at alot of places. also, try Chase bank,

they have alot of choices.

http://www.chase.com

they start you out at $300, but again, its a great starter..

Don't try more then maybe those 2 places,

if your not approved, you can resort to a 'fee' card, it might sound like your paying alot of money, and people might say its a rip off, but trust me, i know what your going thru, my mother had a score of 488 and was approved for the card, i have one also, bot of our limits started out being $50, but they helped us GREAT overtime.

http://www.rewards660.com/

hope i helped, sorry if not.

good luck.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

Just put money into an acct at a bank. (substantial amt). Then, apply for a crd card at that bank, thus, getting a secured crd card. This will open doors for you and help you establish credit. Once you get your credit card, pay the 200. med bill, etc.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

First of all, if your ex used your social security number to open a cable account without your permission, can you prove it. Such as, wasn't living in that state, or even county. Isn't that fraud??? Isn't that the same thing as identity theft??? Secondly, if you can't prove it, start making payments, even if they are small. You don't have to talk to these companies about making payments. If you send in the payment, and they accept it, what is the problem. If they send the payment back to you, then you have a problem. Otherwise, cease all communication with these creditors, and ride it out till it is off your credit reports, and rebuild your credit. Sometimes, department stores are more willing to give credit to people with less than perfect credit. If your income is high enough, and you belong to a credit union, they will give you a very small loan, to pay off your past debt. But only if your income is way above your debt, but that does not sound like that is the case. Try making a small payment to each company of say $20 each. If they accept it, great, they will start reporting on your credit report that you are making payments, thus making you look alitlle better, unless it is about to come off your credit report. Then it looks bad.

How can we build credit if nobody will give us credit to begin with?

I think if you go in person and see the social worker at the hospital and explain your circumstances the bill can be charged off. Then just pay the cable bill. They have credit cards you can get with a 300.00 limit but you have to pay a high interest rate and like $79.00 service fee.. If you need help for the baby you may have to go to the welfare office. Please go to some social service and get prenatal care and plan for the delivery in advance.

Good Luck!

+++++edit

Financial Aid Questions for Graduate Studies?

I have a few specific questions regarding financial aid for graduate students (going for a PhD). I have already applied for assistantships and financial aid (FAFSA). However, I have scoured Yahoo Questions as well as the web in general and have not found what I am looking for. My first question is do first year graduate students typically get assistantships? Secondly, I have personal expenses that will need to be taken care of during my graduate studies, My concern is that I will not be able to take out a loan for these expenses. I understand that I can get Stafford loans as well as various PLUS loans, however these expenses are not considered directly involved with my education. Am I correct in assuming that I cannot use these funds for personal expenses? Thirdly, do assistantships affect the amount of money can borrow (ie Plus loans)? I know that I take out a Plus Loan for the cost of my education but can I take out a plus loan if I recieve and assistantship?

Financial Aid Questions for Graduate Studies?

Typically, a student can get an assistantship. Yes, they can be competitive. So, I hope you have outstanding GPA and writing skills; and possibly GRE scores. You will normally be paid through a grant program that is set up for this program. In addition, the stipulations can vary from school to school. For instance, one school may opt to pay for your tuition in place of your services, while another school might give you a check every two weeks. You will have to talk to the graduate department head for details. If you decide to approach him/her, please dress professionally. (You probably will.)

If you are accepted into an assistantship position and they give you a grant, that will be subtracted from your cost of attendance along with your efc. The remaining will be your difference. Loans, scholarships, and work study will/can fill in the gap.

Loans, like the subsidize and unsubsidized and cover to a point. The plus loans can cover to the cost of attendance. Therefore, if you need additional outside the aid available you, you can use this and others for anything additional. Please reminder, you will need a good budget b/c loans are no joke.

Financial Aid Questions for Graduate Studies?

To answer your first question that would be best asked at the school you attend. I have a friend who received an assistanceship her first year in grad school so it is possible but depending on the number of applicants and possitions that vary from school to school some schools may give them to more advanced students. Some personal expenses are covered in the Cost of Attendance at a school and you can borrow up to this cost of attendance. As a grad student using the FAFSA you will only be eligible for Stafford Loans (18500 for the year) and a gradPLUS loan up to the cost of attendance. If you do receive an assistanctship it will most likely figure into the cost of attendance calculation limiting the amount you can borrow but it may just count tuition reductions and not earnings.

Financial Aid Questions for Graduate Studies?

I am a current graduate student and I have learned that graduate school will hardly ever assist in financial aid, however, if they do, it'll be a mere $100-$200 a semester. Also, I do believe you can use loans to pay for expenses, I know people who have done it, there are even scholarships that will allow for this.

Good luck.

GOOD LUCK.....!

I have a quick housing question:?

I have three options to finance a house that Iplan to live in for 10 years. For option 1, I am getting a 30 year loan at 6.75% interest. For option 2, I am getting a 20 year loan at 6.25 percent. For option 3, I am getting a 15 year loan at 5.65 percent interest. The loan amount is $200,000.00. I have $2,000.00 per month available for a house payment. The amount of money not applied to a house payment will be placed in an interest bearing account at 5.00% interest. All of my interest values are compounded monthly. At the end of 10 years, I plan on selling this house. I need to know these things to make a decision on what I can do.

What is the current balance on each of the three loans.

What is the current balance in the interesting bearing account. (It may be negative)

How much total interest was paid on each of the three loans.

Which of the three options is the best deal.

I have a quick housing question:?

Sounds like a strange mortgage plan. Something because they dont know what to do so they make it complicated.

If this is a real mortgage question. Your rates are extremely high. Plus 20 year mortgages have the exact same rate as a 30. Is this a home work quetion?

If this is a real mortgage question call a local broker. They will give your an amortazation schedule. They can figure out the yield over 10 years for the balances.

This is not a quick housing question. If its a real mortgage question its completely flawed and makes no sense. If its a home work question look it up in your book. You will need ammortazation and yields.

If its truly a mortgage question ive heard of these before. Dont walk run. You can do it yourself. Their rates are ridiculous.

Good luck..... if its a true mortgage question tell me and I will answer it if you give me the name of the company doing it. I think I already know. And I will report them again to the state. If its homework ask your teacher or take it to a math site.

********* UPDATE ***********

Fine I will answer your question.

30 year P $25,492.15 Int 114,605.45 Bal 174,507.85

20 year P $69,803.32 Int 105,619.89 Bal 130,196.63

15 year P $113,923.32 Int 84,092.28 Bal 86,076.68

P=Paid Principal Int= Paid Interest Bal= Balance left after 10 years.

Investment

30 year $702.80@120 months@5% = $109,132.39 Balance

20 year $538.14@120 months@5% = $83,563.61

15 year $349.87@120 months@5% = $54,328.61

Payoff after 10 years

I will let you do the simple math. But this question doesnt make sense in the real world because of the tax implications. Clearly the more interest you pay you get to write off 100%. If you are in a 30% tax bracket it changes everything. If this is a simple math class. Minus the principal left to your account. 15 year is best. But maybe the worst because of tax implications.

Because in that case and you took the 33% tax deduction and added it to what you added monthly. That changes everything. The 109K on the 30 year might go up to way over 170K.

I have a quick housing question:?

John. Figured it out if you just took a 30 year and paid the extra to it. You would be ahead instead of investing. Have somebody ammortize it that way. Plus you dont have to pay taxes on 60K in income. Report It

Will they denied me after all I went through?

I went through alot with my mortgage broker. everytime I think I am done with them, they turn around and says I need more money for the closing. I am supposed to close this friday, and last thursday the loan officer says I need additional 4500 to buy down points so I can be qualified for the loan because the rates went up. the next issue is after I show that I have the money for closing they might run a credit report, the loan officer stated that if my credit goes down a point or two I will not be qualified for the loan. I didnt apply for any new credit cards, but he himself did submitt my info to other banks I believe that can bring down my credit score also, I also did little shopping around for a better rate. I believe my credit went down a bit due to that. Because when we was in the middle of the process of the loan he began to bring up thing we didnt agree on so I decided to shop elsewhere, but everybody quote me the same thing so i stay with the broker. STRESS

Will they denied me after all I went through?

If everybody is quoting you the same thing, then it sounds like you might have marginal credit.Did you lock in a rate ? If so he is just trying to get more money. You can also try to finance the additional 4500. Buying a house is very tricky. Good Luck.

Will they denied me after all I went through?

unfortnaltely is sounds like you got caught up with a greedy broker..thats such bs..it benefits him not you

Will they denied me after all I went through?

Hi.

I am Corrine and i saw your question about needing a loan,In the internet they are alot of scams out there.I decided to answer your question to prevent you being scammed.

I was once in your shoes and i had bad credit yet I got a loan of $162,000 from an agency online.you cancontact us at capitalinvestment_company@yahoo.com

Mrs. Wanda Gillette Tel:+44 70457 13848.

Will they denied me after all I went through?

Often times complications arise throughout the loan process: Credit scores change, rates fluctuate, unexpected title issues. Do not be discouraged, this is a typical loan process. The one thing that stands out is that your broker is asking you for an additional $4,500 right before the close and that he or she may be trying to take advantage of you. I suggest you check out www.restructureyourmortgage.com for a FREE rate quote as well as consultation with a certified mortgage consultant. I wish you the best of luck.

Can I sue for bank neglect?

We won a house auction on June 20, 2007. As soon as we did, the following day my husband and I applied for a loan. The lender, told us we were gonna close in 3 weeks. Between the day we applied for the loan and 2 days before closing we tried to contact the bank lender more than 30 times. He informed us we needed supplemental papers a week before closing and said we were gonna have an answer (wether approved or not) on June 18, 2007. On this day, we called him and he said he handed the responsibility to someone else in charge. This lender/bank know that if we fail to close on the 20th of June, we lose the downpayment made to the house.

Okay, now before we made the loan, we had to give 5% downpayment to the bank who owned the house. In the contract with the auction people, it is stated that extension for the closing is optional and is 150$ every day including the weekends.

Today, we talked to the person in charge with our loan and he said best case scenario is to get an answer in 2 wk

Can I sue for bank neglect?

The neglect is yours. You should have gotten pre-approved for the loan prior to going to the auction. You would then have known how much you could spend and the loan would have already been approved. Once you failed to do that, you should have sought a loan from several banks to ensure that you had the money in the appropriate time frame. Trusting someone else when you knew the consequences was your mistake not the banks.

Can I sue for bank neglect?

I don't think so. Why on earth didn't you set up your financing BEFORE you bid on the house?

Can I sue for bank neglect?

Well, anyone can sue for anything....that being said. I'm surprised that you did not have to give proof that you had already been approved for a loan before putting the down payment or winning the auction bid.

I hope that all works out, but unfortunately this is probably a hard lesson learned.

Can I sue for bank neglect?

Better get a lawyer! This ain't gonna be pretty.

You can sue anyone for anything, but I don't know if you'll have a case. That's what lawyers are for.

Also, shame on you for getting into a fixed-term contract to buy, with your cash on the table, without already having a source of financing lined up!!!!

Experience is a great (but sometimes painful) teacher!

Can I sue for bank neglect?

You have a strong basis for sueing the bank. I suggest you contact the lawyer and take is advise on pros and cons. He may charge his professions fees for the advise, but it is a wiser step to consult him/her before plunging into litigation.

Can I sue for bank neglect?

You can consult an attorney, but it doesn't sound like you have much of a case.

First, your timeline doesn't match up. You won the auction on June 20, then applied for a loan on June 21, but say that you were supposed to have approval by June 18 (three days before you applied)? Also, you say you had to close on June 20th or begin paying a penalty? How could you possibly expect to close on the 20th if you hadn't even applied yet? It's not uncommon for the entire process to take 30-45 days, so it was unrealistic to expect to close on June 20.
