Do international students always need a co-signer in making loans even if they are 18 years old?

I want to study in the US and I really need to apply for a loan, but I still don't have a co-signer.

Nearly all private loans for international students require a credit-worthy U.S. cosigner. I haven't yet seen one that doesn't.

You are not eligible for federally guaranteed student loans. You are eligible for bank loans but you must first establish a credit history of paying off previous credit extended to you through a bank. So, you have to open an account, apply for a loan, pay it off in payments. Do this several times to build your credit standing up, then you can ask for a larger student loan.
