I need ideas for a shirt/blouse to wear to a job interview?

I am applying for two jobs one at a bank and one at a loan place. I know I am wearing black dress pants, but I don't know what shirt to wear. So if anybody has any ideas let me know. Links to pictures would really help. Thanks.

First off good option with the black dress pants, you can't go wrong there. For a shirt, I would go with feminine button down shirts. Nothing indecent or flashy though, but a small ruffle on the neckline, or down the front or lace at the hem. It doesn't have to be white, or navy blue or a nuetral. Next, not sure if you have a shoe picked out or not, but a great round toe or pointy toe shoe is great, as long as it's a closed toe shoe! It doesn't look professional to the interviewer to see the interviewee's toes wiggling around. Also keep jewelry to a minimum. A simple necklace, collarbone length, a thin bracelet maybe. Go light on the perfume also, keep make up light and natrual too. Fix your hair in a low neat bun, if you have bangs, sweep them to the side, out of your face.

For starters, ALWAYS wear closed-toe shoes, I know it sounds awful but it makes a horrible first impression, because the first thing they notice is your toes and toe nail polish. Black dress pants, Great choice, it's classic and never fails to make a good impression. As far as a blouse, you can wear a really nice cami underneath a blazer, a button down shirt is always a good choice (if you want to mix it up wear your favorite color) just don't go to bright with the color choice. Do maybe pastels or a really nice shade, don't do like hot pink or lime green. Stay within some just typical colors : red, blue, green, yellow. I hope this helps!

Royal Blue button up shirts are really good to wear to an interview, the blue signifies power.

Banks- inhabited mostly by men. Try wearing a button up white blouse that mimicks a man's dress shirt. Wear a blazer jacket over the blouse to look more professional. It's weird, but interviewers give extra points to applicants who look like they are dressed ALL THE WAY.

Wearing a simple blouse and black pants looks like you forgot to put a jacket on or that you can't afford to buy one.

(go to Loehman's for great designer clothing cheap!)

Imagine a man in a pair of pants, dress shirt and a tie going to the same interview. I see a used car salesman.

Now put the same guy in the same outfit and add a jacket and he looks completely dressed and professional.

Even if the person interviewing you isn't wearing a jacket, you should. Look as if you just might be taking over your interviewers job any time now. And another hint about how to dress for interviews, meetings etc- ALWAYS dress as if you have somewhere more important to go to later.

It will make them wonder who that amazingly busy person is and they'll want you to work for them.

And another thing on women's clothing- the ONLY place where cleavage of any kind or too much leg showing is acceptable is at a strip club or Hooters. Women's cleavage is the same as a man wearing his pants so low his pubic hair is showing. It is NEVER appropriate in a work place-unless you actually are a stripper. If you think cleavage and too much leg is going to get you somewhere, you will soon find out that the only place it will get you is into a very awkward and obnoxious moment in the copy paper room with some smelly old fart who is tired of his wife and four kids. NOT a dream promotion to being the bimbo the creepy guy is banging at work.

Head high, dress like you own the place and be proud of your intelligence! Go get 'em!

I don't have any links, but...

I would say a long pink tank or white and then a short black one on top, then a cute black blazer, but close the blazer cause it might look too%26quot;pretty%26quot; and not the sophistication area. No offense, but with what i just said i wouldn't wear dress pants, but maybe black pants or a pencil skirt. Hope this helps!!

Lucks to ya!

It totally depends on what sort of person you are. I would guess nothing too tight or showy for a bank, but then again you dont want to look uncomfortable in something too stiff. I have no idea of your age, but here are a few pictures to help you out:

Something classic but refreshing

Something kinda fun (might be a bit too casual for your jobs though)

Or some normal business shirts, tailored and simple

Basically something that shows your own personal style, but is still a business shirt style so you dont look as though you wont take the job seriously.

Oh and make sure you wear nice clean closed-toe shoes! You want to present a complete package!

There are a lot of things I'd done better at my last job interviews... make us proud!!

Good luck hun!
