IT Returns Acknowledgement?

I asked my friend to file IT Returns along with original form 16.

He has filed but has not take the copy of form 16 %26amp; has lost the IT Returns acknowledgement.

How do I go about getting the IT Returns Acknowledgement or the proof that the IT Returns has been filed.

I need the IT Returns Acknowledgement for applying home loan, schengen visa %26amp; to file revised IT returns. Could anyone send me the resolution plz

Go to nearest Income Tax department where you filed your returns and ask them about this.

Now a days, nothing is attached to return of income. Form 16 was not taken by IT deptt. It was returned to submitter. If you know date of submission of ITR, you can request staff in your ward to give certificate / proof about submission of ITR. You can submit duplicate / revised return for different purpose.
